discover the energy of hydrogen

Ready, steady, FCHgo!

Are you ready to explore the world of renewable energies?
Participate in the FCHgo contest and find out about Hydrogen and Fuel Cells!
Don’t miss this chance!

When?

The International award will start in January 2020 in the framework of the European project FCHgo – Fuel Cells HydroGen educatiOnal model for schools.

Topic?

World of the future: the best FHC application

Who can apply?

School teams/classes from primary and secondary schools in Europe and abroad. Pupils from all over the world can compete!

Why participate?

FCHgo is financed by the European research & innovation programme Horizon 2020’s FCH Joint Undertaking. The project seeks to provide teachers with a full-fledged training and teaching kit about hydrogen fuel cells. The goal is to support the active teaching of the topic in classrooms and its introduction into school curricula. Despite hydrogen bearing great potential for the energy transition, it yet represents a niche scientific sector, little known or subject to prejudice and incorrect information. Hence, the FCHgo award is a great opportunity to bring hydrogen energy into classrooms.

How it works

Classes participating in the FCHgo award compete against each other within their category of age: 8-11 years (primary school) 12-14 years (lower secondary school) and 15-18 years (secondary school).
Expert juries, composed of FCHgo consortium members, teachers, hydrogen researchers and industry experts, will assess the level of creativity and technological innovation of the activities carried out and nominate the most innovative products created.

Eventually, three teams per European region and from the world (one for each school level) will be selected and invited to pitch their projects to an international jury. The three teams which convince the jury the most will be invited to the international FCHgo award ceremony in Brussels.
